About

On graduating from Limerick School of Art and Design, Ireland with a B.A. in Ceramic Design in 1999, I established a studio practice in Co Kildare, creating bespoke ceramic artworks, using the quality of clay to capture mood and sensitivity.  I have developed my practice to incorporate mixed media with my ceramic pieces.

The theme of journey is particularly evident in my ‘boat’ series.  I consider this as a metaphor for life’s journey. The boats are created using much loved motifs from ancient mythology.  My use of colour, green, yellow and gold, is symbolic of a spiritual journey through life.

My ‘urban’ series has a contemporary feel, while retaining a sense of nostalgia and memory.  Inspired by fashion, these ceramic artworks are embellished with strong textures and eclectic pattern.

My work has been sold in outlets throughout Ireland and has been used as presentation pieces for:

• The Designyard, Nassau St, Dublin 2

• The former Chilean Ambassador to Ireland Alberto Yoacham Soffia

• The Edmund Rice Trust

• Dublin City Council

• The Department of Foreign Affairs

• The Royal College of Surgeons

• The former President of Ireland Mary Mc Aleese
